Camping Gems - Texas Tips

Weather
Temperatures in Texas can vary dramatically from region to region.  While the Texas Hill Country has cool weather, the Gulf Coast might be battling summer storms - or vice versa.  Bring rain gear with you to Texas, as well as a hat, sun screen, and sunglasses.

Rio Grande and Gulf Coast
Even though the temperatures during the day in January, which is the coldest month in the valley, are a moderate 63 degrees, it can still feel a little damp. You'll probably want to pack a cuddly jacket just in case the chill gets to you. Other good things to pack are a hat and some strong sun screen. With 312 days of sunshine on the average, you should get a chance to use both.
